In April 2027, Kansai International Academy will launch a new learning environment: the Mountain Campus.
As AI and technology continue to advance at an unprecedented pace, our lives are becoming increasingly convenient. At the same time, however, opportunities to connect with nature and develop a sense of care for our planet are gradually diminishing.
That is why the Mountain Campus will place a strong emphasis on Outdoor Education and Inquiry Learning within a rich natural environment.
Our Grade 4 students, who are reaching the important milestone of turning 10, will spend approximately half of their learning time at this campus, surrounded by lush greenery. Here, they will engage in inquiry-based learning through outdoor education-an essential form of learning for the future.
The age of ten marks a significant stage in a child’s development. It is a time when children begin to see the world more objectively and become increasingly aware of the relationship between themselves and the wider world around them.
Science and technology alone cannot secure the future of our planet. That is why we believe it is essential for children to develop a deep understanding of nature through all five senses and to recognize themselves as an integral part of the natural world.
Feeling the sunlight filtering through the trees and experiencing the rhythms of nature, our students will develop the wisdom and understanding needed to build a healthy and sustainable future-qualities that cannot be fully cultivated within the walls of a traditional classroom. Their journey begins here, in the mountains.
